October 1 Application Deadline for Spring Semester Study Abroad

The application deadline is Friday, October 1, for students wanting to study abroad during the Spring semester 2011.  Lewis University offers a variety of study abroad opportunities.  Students may study abroad on semester or summer programs while taking courses applicable to their academic program, satisfying Lewis major, minor, General Education, and elective credit requirements.   Studying abroad provides unique opportunities to learn about diverse issues and global topics by going beyond the classroom and experiencing them first-hand. Fees and costs for semester and summer programs are reasonably close to those of Lewis University tuition and fees.

Basic eligibility requirements include a minimum of a 3.0 GPA (2.75 for Travel Study programs) and sophomore, junior, or first-semester senior status at the time of participation. Financial aid may be applied in most cases, and fluency in a language is not required.  For application materials, a current listing of opportunities, and more details about the programs, check the SA website at www.lewisu.edu/studyabroad or contact the Study Abroad office located in LARC (815-836-5993, swansoch@lewisu.edu).
